Charles “Chuck” Pembroke

Charles “Chuck” Pembroke is a managing partner with Meraki Search Group and brings over 30 years of management consulting, business leadership and executive search experience with a passion for how high performing teams can drive meaningful impact.  Before joining Meraki, he was a Partner with Heidrick & Struggles in the firm’s Industrial practice and led the Global Paper and Packaging specialty practice.  Chuck conducts executive and board searches and leadership assessments tied to succession and merger integration. 

Chuck believes that a deep understanding of clint business strategy and culture combined with the ability to assess candidate readiness leads to successful placements.  His clients include both publicly traded and privately backed businesses across the paper, packaging and materials sector as well as adjacencies including discrete and process manufacturing, building products, chemicals and engineered products. He has served clients for key roles across the C-suite and Board level as well as leadership roles in commercial, supply chain, operations and human resources.   

Before his career in executive search, Chuck had a 20-year career in industry serving as Group Vice President at Evergreen Packaging, a privately backed integrated supplier of fiber-based packaging. Prior to Evergreen, he held several functional and staff leadership roles with International Paper.  Earlier in his career, Chuck served as consultant with Towers Watson, focusing on strategy and organizational effectiveness for clients in financial services, utilities, and pharmaceutical sectors. He began his career providing strategy and marketing counsel to financial institutions in leveraged finance and commercial banking for a boutique management consulting firm.

Chuck earned an MBA in finance and international business from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colgate University.  He is certified in several leadership assessment methodologies. Chuck and his partner Caroline split time between Colorado and Florida.  Together they enjoy hiking, travel and time with family.  He and his son are avid golfers and frequent visitors of U.S National Parks.
